I’m a multi-disciplinary artist based in Philadelphia, PA. I have a background in Photography, receiving a BFA and MFA from the University of the Arts and Tyler School of Art, respectively. I’ve worked as an Artist’s Assistant, Freelance Photographer, and Adjunct Professor, along the East Coast. Although still informed by photography, the things I make today incorporate a variety of mediums and approaches.
My body of work includes elements of installation, performance, sculpture, and 2D imagery. I’ve always been interested in reconstructing and re-imagining our experience of the contemporary urban environment in ways that inspire a sense of wonder. I’ve adopted the figure of ‘Helvetica Man’, the universal symbol for man (and woman), as a personal prosthetic to connect with other people and the world around me. This symbol has become a vehicle through which I can extend my personal concerns with things like identity, control, and emotion, into a conversation with a larger audience.
